Winemaker Richard saperstein
Proprietor, Viña Andrico (Los Chacayes of Mendoza, Argentina)
After three decades of enjoying wines from around the world, in 2007, Richard Saperstein and his wife Andrea met Pablo Martorell, a talented third-generation Mendoza winemaker, and established Viña Andrico. The shared goal is to create outstanding red wines by applying the highest quality farming and vinification techniques. The winery and vineyard are both located at the Vines of Mendoza in the foothills of the Andes Mountains (3,600’ elevation) in the Los Chacayes of Mendoza, Argentina.
In 2017, Richard and Andrea released their first commercial vintage, the 2012 Gran Reserva Malbec into several New York City restaurants. The vintage quickly sold out. The following year, they released the 2014 vintage in both New York City and Crested Butte, CO. As word spread, they expanded to Denver and Westchester County, New York. In 2019, after completing their eighth harvest, they expanded to Vail, CO and the East End of Long Island, NY.
