In 2005, Alaska native Jim Pittenger, a.k.a. Biker Jim, ditched his job repossessing cars, bought a hot dog cart and starting slinging the city’s best wieners on a street corner in downtown Denver. At Biker Jim’s Gourmet Dogs, with sausages made from reindeer, elk, rattlesnake, the mythical jack-a-lope and more, Jim’s unique take on street food has been featured in publications including Food and Wine, Forbes and the Wall Street Journal, and he appeared on No Reservations with the late (and great) Anthony Bourdain. Jim continues to push culinary boundaries, delighting and surprising just about everyone who tries his creative take on the humble tube steak.
